Sutton's The Link is opened

On November 12th, The Town of Georgina held their grand opening celebration for The Link, Georgina’s Community Connection Centre. Above, the Mayor cuts a very large ribbon with an even larger pair of scissors.

The Link is a former school the Town is repurposing into a community-creative hub that brings together four core partners: Georgina Arts Centre & Gallery, Hospice Georgina, Georgina Trades Training Inc., and Georgina Community Food Pantry. Under one roof, The Link, will deliver programs and services focused on health and wellness, arts and culture, youth engagement, recreation, job training, and more.

Our Place Peel Youth Shelter

OPP Annual Report 2015
We recently completed the expansion of Our Place Peel, the only Emergency Youth Shelter in the Region of Peel. In their Annual Report, they note: “Youth and staff at OPP are benefiting from the completion of an extensive shelter renovation, which has transformed the kitchen, lounge, Resource Room and office areas. The difference is incredible. The space has expanded and opened up so it is more conductive for youth to gather together.”
